Naturally Illinois Expo

Save the Date for the 2015 Expo

The next Naturally Illinois Expo will be held April 17 & 18th, 2015 at the Forbes Building in Research Park. The 2015 Expo showcases the work of the Prairie Research Institute, which includes: Illinois Natural History Survey, Illinois State Archaeological Survey, Illinois State Technology Survey, Illinois State Water Survey, and Illinois Sustainable Technology Center. Exhibits are geared toward families, teachers, and students.

New in 2015!

Location: The Forbes Natural History building is located near Research Park on the south side of the University of Illinois campus. The new location will provide more room and easier access, allowing for a broader range of exhibits.

Date: The Expo has been moved to April 17 & 18.

Zero Waste: This year we are striving to make the 2015 Expo is a Zero Waste Event.

Zero Waste What is Zero Waste? "Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use."

More information about the Zero Waste initiative can be found here: http://www.istc.illinois.edu/tech/zero_waste.cfm

TEACHERS/YOUTH GROUPS

For teachers across the region, Naturally Illinois has become a staple of the year's science curriculum. That's because Institute scientists do more than merely inform - they engage and excite students of all ages. Also a great destination for Boys and Girls' Clubs, scout troops, and other youth organizations. See the Teacher/Group Info link for more information.
